Internal Product Launches

In the new version of Product Launch Formula Jeff Walker goes over two different types of launches. The first type of launch is an internal product launch which we'll talk about in this post. In the next post we'll go over the other type of launch that you are most likely more familiar with - the JV or joint venture launch.

Internal product launches have quite a few advantages that make them the perfect place to start for new product owners. Internal launches cut out a lot of the planning involved - and trust me the JV planning can get really intense and frustrating. That's why internal launches are so much easier - you don't have to work on coordinating with hundreds of affiliates to make sure they are all promoting the right way at the right time.

So you have a product right? Well then it's time to do an internal launch. With these launches you're only sending the launch out to your own prospects. With no joint venture partners or affiliates involved you get to keep a lot more of the money that you make from the sales. The largest expense will most likely be the credit card processor and you should maintain at least 85% of the money that you gross in sales.

Of course some of this money might be paying back the time, money, or both that you spent on the product but it's all coming back to you. If you've just created your product you may not have a list of prospects. Jeff will go over how to build that list for a lot less then it would cost you to have the large JV launch.

I'll give you a few tips as well for building your prospect list. Make sure that you use a third party solution such as aWeber so you don't have to worry about mailing from your own computer or your own servers. This will make life a lot simpler for you and it's cheap as well.

When you're building a list you have to give a little to get back their information. A lot of the times we ask for name and email only so we can email them with our product launches. However some niches might require a little more info - don't be afraid to test different amounts of information and see the conversion rate changes.

We'll need to give away something to get the user to give up their information. Try to make the gift as quality as you can so that you begin to establish some trust with your users. Don't try to sell them right away - build trust and then do your product launch. These internal launches are being used hundreds of times a month and generating millions of dollars for product owners. They work - and Jeff will walk you through how to do them the best possible way. If you own a product, are creating one, or would like to create one then Product Launch Formula is for you.
